Microsoft Exchange Server, a Microsoft product for small and medium-sized businesses that offers email, calendar, and collaboration functionality, recently had four zero-day bugs that made the system vulnerable to attacks, beginning in early January.

Are you one of the many businesses that has been hacked or compromised? We’re here to help. Vertex Cyber Security has helped many companies and their IT providers to investigate and handle compromised systems, including reporting and communications. As part of our services, we have worked with companies to retrieve lost data, and identify, resolve and lock down these vulnerabilities that have put their systems at risk.
The Microsoft Exchange vulnerability received a patch months after Microsoft knew about the vulnerability and months after it was being used to hack Microsoft Exchange systems. Furthermore Office365 was patched months before a public patch was released. The attack was used by hundreds of attackers with different motivations and methods. So the response and protection against these types of attacks (zero day) are not simple and something we do on a regular basis.
