Is there a recession coming?
We are Cyber experts not financial experts so I don’t really know. What I do know is that most Cyber attacks have an element of financial motivation and they are often performed by people and countries that have financial issues.
So if the amount of financial issues increases during a recession (or even in a financial dip) then it is very likely that this will drive the current cyber attackers to increase their cyber attacks to increase their financial return. As well as encourage others around them in a similar situation to do the same.
Essentially this will mean Cyber Attacks will increase in a financial downturn or recession. This financial pressure will also force Cyber Attackers to innovate and apply more sophisticated attacks.
