Australia, the United States, Japan, and India have announced a partnership focused on improving cybersecurity and security resilience, including enhancements to software, user data, and supply chains.
The announcement comes after all of the countries involved in the initiative have faced a growing number of China-linked hacking attacks, some impacting critical infrastructure.
This partnership will include:
- Sharing threat information to improve overall cybersecurity of critical infrastructure
- Sharing information and potential risks found in the supply chain for digitally-enabled products and surfaces (Think SolarWinds)
- Creating baseline standards for security in government procurement of goods and services
- Leveraging collective purchasing power
The goal of this partnership is to fight back against the growing cyber threat and build up a stronger cybersecurity posture in each of the countries.
