Each year in October, organisations celebrate National Cybersecurity Month and spread awareness of the importance of strong cybersecurity infrastructure to protect against cyber attacks.
For this year’s National Cybersecurity Month, here are some ideas on how your organisation and employees can have a stronger security posture:
Educate your staff on phishing emails and dangerous links. Partner with us to provide your team with cybersecurity training that includes what to look out for when it comes to phishing emails and suspicious links.
Conduct research on the best systems to implement a zero trust architecture. Zero trust is the premise that you can “trust no one”, and the system operates on the basis of consistently authenticating identity and assessing for cyber threats. Ensure your IT staff have conducted research on the best solutions to implement zero trust within your organisation, or hire a trusted Cyber Security expert who can ensure your systems are protected.
Implement strong passwords and multi-factor authentication. Establish password policies for your organisation and ensure that employees are using unique passwords stored in a password manager, to minimise the attack surface. Implementing multi-factor authentication wherever possible is another, low-resource intensive way of adding an additional layer of security.
